Generation X Mini June Update
News Author: Zeke

Greetings GenX fans, this fairly large mini update is all about our concept artist Anubis.
Anubis has designed some of the most memorable units in GenX. The Phalanx Tank Destroyer, The Lightning Spike, and The God Emperor are just some of those units.
In celebration of his birthday this June 1st we will be showcasing some of his latest work for future GenX units, starting with The Athena Platform for General Alexander

A level 5 special power. It can be deployed anywhere on the map just like the sneak attack.
It is armed with 3 Phalanx Turrets that can only target small and ballistic missiles ( no air units ), 2 EMP Missile Pods that only targets ground targets, and a Heavy HE cannon turret that fires HE shells. It can be garrisoned by up to 5 soldiers and it can even detect stealth.
However it also has some downsides. The platform requires 10 power to function and is vulnerable to attack while being deployed.
Next we have China's Tier 3 Tech Center

Like the USA Battlelab, this building will unlock China's tier 3 units and upgrades, including Nuclear Tanks and DPU Shells.
Finally we have the China Khan Support Vehicle

One of China's new T3 units, the Khan is cheaper than the overlord but less armored. It comes with 2 single barrel gattling cannons and a module slot that can take 3 possible upgrades:
A. Propaganda Tower - Self explanatory.
B. AP Gattling Canon - Murders ground units, can't shoot air.
C. THOR missile system - Murders air units and detects stealth.
Well that's all for now, hope you enjoyed the update, and Happy Birthday Anubis :)

ZHU Unit Lore Release
News Author: General FCS
While ZHU was still rolling hot, I asked Strategia for permission to write unit lores, which he gladly agreed. Now, though, we're unofficially dead.
I really do not want ZHU to be dead, but it's a fact: everyone in this team are either overtaxed on their RL schedules and plannings, or they want to help but can't.
I doubt this topic will attract many readers, but still, I shall present to you unit lores written by me and edited by Strategia. If possible, I will keep releasing new lores on a weekly basis.
Vulture Attack Aircraft, General Juhziz
On April 18, 1943, The 339th Fighter Squadron, headed by Captain Thomas Lanphier and his co-pilot 1st Lieutenant Rex Barber, was tasked with the mission to intercept a Japanese heavy bomber designated as carrying an “Important High Officer”. Lieutenant Barber shot down a Japanese bomber down to the forest, while Captain Lanphier shot down another. The “Important High Officer” was found dead near one of the wrecks on an island. His name: Isoroku Yamamoto.
With this victorious interception, and lots of other records, the P-38 Lightning entered the list of the finest piston-engine powered fighters, but although it was a capable aircraft, soon the age of the jets arrived, and it silently quit the air over modern battlefields. However, impressed with its tough armour, heavy armament and modifiability, terrorist organizations all over the world used any means necessary to get this aircraft. The Global Liberation Army was one of them.
Followed by the hollow defeat in Europe and Asia during the First and Second GLA Crisis, the GLA “ran away from us, just like mice run away from cats”, so said by the Director of Chinese Army Intelligence.
But the USA and China were both fooled by the GLA. The GLA assembled a team of strategists, tacticians and veterans from all over their territory, and established a sophisticated intelligence/military agency, designed to counter the enemies’ strength. This team’s first mission was to analyze why the GLA lost this “Crusade of Freedom” to the “imperialist pigs”. One of the reasons soon emerged: The GLA didn’t have an air force, which severely limited their attack power and mobility, proved by large supply of “Young, brave fighters with great knowledge” being sent to the Infantry Regiments, pathetically cut down by Dragon Tanks, Pathfinders, etc. There was a dilemma: To build an air force, or not. After three weeks of discussions, arguments and shouting, the decision was made: Yes.
With this in mind, the GLA’s junk dealers searched all across the world for aircrafts that could be acquired without attracting too much attention from American and Chinese intelligence agencies. One of the aircraft they found especially intriguing was the P-38.
The GLA managed to get their hands on a couple of P-38s still in working condition. When the top designers, salvagers and builders in the GLA arrived, process of upgrading and copying P-38 started. With half a year’s tests, failures, and successes, they finally managed to produce a small squadron of 20 fighters. These all went to General Juhziz, who had taken a special interest in the upgrade of the P-38. The rebuilt P-38s received a slightly outdated, but sturdy composite metal structure, a lengthened cockpit, low-efficiency-but-working radar, and modern turboprops to summarise the main structural changes.
The armaments of these P-38s were greatly enhanced. A B-17 gun turret was slapped on the back of the plane with 2x.50 calibre machine guns for AA self defence, but if ordered, the pilot could also fly the plane towards other aerial targets while the gunner unleashes a hailstorm of AP shells. The storage area inside the turret and the cockpit is large, so the plane can carry enormous amounts of ammo. The main shell-based weapon was changed into 4 30mm auto cannons. These auto cannons uses newly developed AP rounds, making them into very deadly weapons, against both ground as well as air targets. The most devastating armaments though, are 8 HE unguided rockets. These rockets have their HE warheads freshly-made with enhanced formula, and 8 is enough to destroy most land-based vehicles and severely damage buildings, if not destroying smaller ones altogether. The GLA has intensely trained pilots for the aircraft, and they learned a lot about this. One of the things they learned was to not fire all rockets at once, to conserve ammo. The auto cannon shells can be stored in the hull, but the large, heavy rockets are mounted under the wings, so an aircraft must return to base to reload these weapons.
With all these modifications, the speed of the P-38 is increased by 25%, armour has been improved a whole lot, and it should be safe to say that its combat firepower has been doubled or tripled, according to test missions.
On April 18, 2038, General Juhziz officially named the new aircraft Vulture, and authorized the mass production of this aircraft. Being Juhziz’s “Death from Above”, it sends destruction and fear towards the frontline troops of the USA and China, even seasoned veterans.
I hope you will enjoy this lore, and perhaps provide grammar/idea suggestions for me to improve this.

Generation X Mini May Update
News Author: Zeke

Greetings GenX fans! time for another mini update!!
I'm sorry to say there are no new renders to show yet...
crowd:"dawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww D:"
However AnNo1935 from CnC Saga decided to give me an interview about the mod which you can find here.
For the benefit of our non German speaking fans, here is the English translation:
The Generation X mod for Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour is one of the most popular modifications. Whether completely new generals, or even new things for the old generals Generation X adds just about everything you could wish for. We had the opportunity to conduct an interview with them. Some community questions were also answered. In this mod, technical aspects as well as buildings and units are changed. We had an interview with Zach and now look forward to show you this! Hey, please tell us something about yourself- My real name is Zach, I am 21 years old, and I'm currently 3rd year college majoring in Industrial Design. Please tell us something about your Mods (Show some links etc)- Generation X is a mod for CnC Generals Zero Hour. It adds 3 new generals for each side called the "X" General, and it also adds new units and upgrades to the existing generals. You can get more info hereWhat makes your Mod so special? What is the difference to other Mods?- Well I'd say GenX is a more casual and player friendly mod. It is a lot less micro intensive, we try to lessen the baby sitting required so that the player can focus on the actual game. How long will it take until it’s released?- it'll be done, when it's done, no sooner no later Will the AI be able to handle this Mod? Will there be any problems?- The AI for the existing generals work fine and will be ready for the first release. The new generals however, might not get AI until the 2nd beta. Do you have any future plans for your Mods or your real life? What’s about to be next?- Well I have other mod ideas I would like to try after GenX is done. How important is the community for you?- Well I consider GenX as my own personal project, but despite that community input is still very important. What do you think about the situation now after the release of CnC4?- CnC 4 ain't' that bad, they were experimenting with something new same with Generals. How easy it is to Mod CnC4 in contrast to other games? Easier or more difficult?- I don't think CnC 4 can be modded, yet. What do you think about the support of EA and the community?- Meh, it's ok. EA always tries hard to please the fans although they don't always succeed Are there any problems with the Mod or within your team? Or is all working out perfectly?- There have been some big arguments that ultimately led to some members leaving, but I feel it's better that way. On a slightly related note, do check out the European Conflict mod IT'S 'AWESOME'!! What is your next project / the project you’re working on at the moment?- I am co-leading the revival of another mod called ZH Reborn, you can find more info here and here I'm also co-leader of CnC Untitled as well as a member to a lot of other mods. How did you get the idea to make this mod? How did it all start?- Well I pretty much got bored shortly after finishing the ZH campaign and generals challenge. Then my friend lent me his copy of ZH Reborn V5, which got me into ZH again. Eventually I found Shockwave 0.92, which inspired me to make my own mod. And the rest is history. Is there anything you want to tell the community?- Stay in school, don't do drugs, and remember uniqueness is overrated! What are your next steps?- Probably a working navy, and optimized AI Will there be additional maps?- Yes GenX will have some new maps as well as new versions of old maps. Where is the difference between the normal factions and the ones of your Mod? What is so special about them?- They have more new units and have a better focus on their specialty, but at the same time they will also more alternative strategies to use. For example Airf gen will have tanks.
Well thanks for reading, see ya next time :)
